The Rolling Stone Greatest 200 Australian Albums of All Time is one of those lists that's guaranteed to get you fired up — whether you're nodding along or shouting at the screen.
We've had a good look through it here at Rebel Rebel Records and, like you, we're equal parts delighted and miffed. Some absolute classics made it where they should, but a few glaring omissions have us shaking our heads. That's the beauty of a list like this — it gets people talking.
A few honourable mentions that caught our eye:
- Midnight Oil, Powderworks — hard to argue with that one
- Stranded - The Saints — The 1977 juggernauts that changed everything.
- The Go-Betweens, 16 Lovers Lane — Brisbane representing, and rightly so
- Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds — multiple entries, as it should be
